Privacy policy
Last updated October 10, 2026
- Your driving records stay on your phone unless you sign in to back them up.
- Your GPS route never leaves your phone. Only totals (miles, minutes) are backed up.
- Receipts and statements are read on your phone and are never uploaded.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or share it with Uber, Lyft or insurers.
- You can export everything, and deleting your account deletes your backup.
Who we are
RideshareIQ is an app that helps rideshare drivers see what each shift, ride and mile really earns them. This policy covers the RideshareIQ app for Android and iOS and this website. Questions or requests: hello@rideshareiq.app.
RideshareIQ is not affiliated with Uber, Lyft or any rideshare company, and never connects to your driver accounts.
What stays on your phone
The app keeps these in its own storage on your device:
- Location during a shift. While you have a shift running, the app records your position (also in the background, with a visible notification on Android) to measure miles and split them into empty, pickup and passenger miles. The detailed route is stored only on your phone, and is deleted when you delete that shift or your account. Outside a shift, the app takes a single position reading only when you open something that needs it, such as nearby airports or your local gas price.
- Shifts, rides, fares and tips you record or import, your vehicle details (including the VIN if you enter one) and its costs, and expenses.
- Receipt photos and PDFs. Text on a receipt is read by your phone's own text recognition to fill in the form. The images are never uploaded.
- Uber and Lyft statements you import. The PDF is read on your phone. Only the amounts it contains are kept, as earnings.
- Voice. Voice commands and dictation are recognized on your phone.
What leaves your phone, and why
| What | Sent to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your email, or your Google or Apple sign-in | Supabase (our backend) | Only if you create an account, to sign you in. |
| Shifts, rides, fares, tips, mileage totals, vehicle and cost details, expense entries (not receipt images) | Supabase | Only if you sign in: to back up your records and keep your phones in sync. Each account can read only its own data. |
| Your approximate position (rounded to about 100 m) and an airport | Our server, then Google's Directions service | To work out the drive time to the airport and when to leave. |
| Your position | Our server | To find airports near you. Not passed on. |
| Your state | Our server, then the U.S. Energy Information Administration | To look up the local average gas price. Your phone's maps service turns your position into a state. |
| Your approximate position (rounded to about 1 km) | Our server, then Ticketmaster | To show events near you and when they let out. Nothing else about you is sent. |
| An airport code and time window | Our server, then a flight-data provider (FlightAware) | To show arriving and departing flights. Nothing about you is sent. |
| VIN, or year, make and model | NHTSA and fueleconomy.gov (U.S. government) | To fill in your vehicle and its fuel economy, when you ask. |
| The area of a map you view | OpenStreetMap | To draw map tiles of a shift's route. The route itself is drawn on your phone. |
| Crash reports | Firebase Crashlytics (Google) | To find and fix crashes. They carry the error and app state, not your name, email, location or earnings. |
| Shift health summaries | Supabase | Counts about how well tracking worked on a shift (GPS gaps, minutes in the background, miles, app version and phone model), linked to a random install ID, not to you, so we can catch mileage bugs. |
| Problem reports | Supabase | Only when you send one: what you typed, recent app diagnostics, and an optional voice clip. You see exactly what will be sent first. |
| An app integrity check | Google Play Integrity or Apple App Attest | To keep our server for genuine copies of the app. |
The app also downloads its fonts from Google Fonts. Directions open in Google Maps or Waze, as you choose. Those apps' own privacy policies then apply.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your data, or share it for advertising.
- We don't use advertising IDs or ad networks.
- We don't read your Uber or Lyft accounts, offers, screens or notifications.
- We don't give your data to rideshare companies, insurers or data brokers.
How long we keep it
- Backed-up records: until you delete them or your account.
- Shift health summaries and problem reports: deleted automatically after 180 days.
- Voice clips in problem reports: deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Drive-time and gas-price results: cached on our server for up to 10 minutes and 24 hours.
Your choices and controls
- Use it without an account. Everything works on your phone. Nothing about your shifts is backed up.
- Export your data from Account as spreadsheets, a mileage log and a tax summary.
- Delete all shift history from Account. It is removed from your phone and marked deleted in your backup, so it never comes back to any of your phones. It is erased from the backup when you delete your account.
- Delete your account from Account. This erases your account and your entire backup, then clears the app on that phone.
- Shift health summaries and problem reports are not linked to your account. To have them deleted sooner, email us the install ID shown on the Report a problem screen.
- Location can be turned off in your phone's settings. Mileage tracking then stops.
You can also ask us for a copy of your data or to correct or delete it by emailinghello@rideshareiq.app. We answer within 30 days.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Backed-up records are protected so that only your signed-in account can read them. Our server holds the keys to outside services; the app never does. The app's local storage is excluded from device cloud backups.
Children
RideshareIQ is for rideshare drivers, who must be adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
Where your data is processed
RideshareIQ is built for drivers in the United States. Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
